Tamarindo Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica and part of a bay formed by a cape, and Playa Grande lies to the north of Tamarindo inside the bay. These beaches are part of Las Baulas National Park. Las Baulas park is named for the giant leatherback turtle, and the beaches in the park comprise one of the major nesting sites for the turtles worldwide.
